Brigette Bilyeu

Brigette Bilyeu is a Special Master in the Snake River Basin Adjudication, Idaho's Water Court. She has served in that position since July 1993. Before coming to the SRBA, Special Master Bilyeu was a litigator with the Boise law firm of Elam & Burke. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Idaho, College of Law, in 1988. Special Master Bilyeu was born in Pocatello, Idaho and was raised on the family farm near Tyhee and Chubbuck. After attending public school in Pocatello, Special Master Bilyeu attended Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics, and remains a faithful Celtics fan. Special Master Bilyeu is a member of the Idaho Bar Association and participates in the Water Law and Litigation sections. She is on the planning committee for the annual trial seminar conducted by the Litigation section. She served on the court steering committee formed in 1994 to work on new water statutes passed by the Idaho Legislature. Special Master Bilyeu currently presides over hearings in the Big Lost River area near Arco and Mackay.
